For Your Skin and Hair

Thai people know that Coconut oil and milk have a powerful moisturizing effect on their skin and hair. This moisturisation forms the basis for many skin and hair care uses in Thailand. Coconut shells, oil and milk are used in soap, face masks, shampoo toothpaste and body lotion.

If you feel that your skin is a little bit dry, hydrate it by rubbing some coconut oil on. Hey presto it is dry no more! But coconut oil and milk are much more than a chemical-free, natural moisturisers.

When it is applied to the skin it can repel bugs and prevent bug bites. Or it can ease itching pain from an existing insect bite. Coconut milk and oil can also act as an antibacterial agent. Wounds can be cleaned and skin repair can be accelerated. Besides being moisturized damaged skin like cuts and stretch marks is healed.

Anti-Aging, Wrinkles and Dark Circles

Coconut oil and coconut face masks can help with anti-aging to give a youthful appearance.

For UV Protection and Sunburn Relief

Most commercial sunscreen products contain toxic ingredients which block the beneficial UV radiation that the body needs to make Vitamin D. One recent study found that it can block about 20 per cent of the sun’s UV rays. Conventional sunscreen blocks about 90 per cent of UV rays.

Whereas Coconut oil on the other hand, can provide just the right amount of protection from sunburns and skin cancer. While not blocking out the beneficial rays. Thai people have been using it as a sunscreen for decades.

For Acne

Recent research shows that coconut oil helps people with itchy, scaly skin find some relief. The moisturising, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of coconut oil do truly shine. Great news for those people with dermatitis, psoriasis and particularly eczema. Coconut oil prevents dermatitis and other skin disorders at least as good as mineral oil and other conventional moisturisers. It was found in a research study of children with eczema, 47% of those treated with coconut oil had major improvements.

Moisturise Your Skin

Coconut oil and coconut milk can make a wonderful moisturiser for your elbows, arms and legs. You can use it on your face as a mask as well. However, this would not be recommended for anybody with very oily skin. Coconut can also repair cracked heels. Just apply a thin coat of oil to heels at bedtime. Smear on to socks on a nightly basis and continue until your heels are smooth.

For Hair Protection and Strength

Coconut oil can be the perfect hair treatment to prevent hair damage from combing, brushing and a dry scalp. Keeping it strong and healthy. There is also help to combat against dandruff. The proven anti-fungal and moisturising properties of coconut oil can fight against the scalp-dwelling fungus known as Malassezia globosa.

For Frizzy Hair

Do you have frizzy hair? A little coconut oil goes a long way for calming down, hopelessly frizzy hair. You can get the frizz under control plus help reduce heat damage from common hair tools like blow dryers, hair straighteners, curlers and wavering tongs. #
