Historically more often made from flax, but hemp linen has a long history as well. Hemp fibers are longer and stronger than flax, so hemp linin has been prized for its strength and durability.Available in two different weaves and colors: Unbleached Natural Linen, and White Slub Linen. Both are produced by modern methods, but our slub linen attempts to recreate the look and feel of a rustic homespun linen, where the yarns are not of consistent thickness. (Slubs are small irregular lumps which occur randomly along the length of the woven yarns.) Historically slubs would have been viewed as defects, but now they simply add to the character and aesthetic of the fabric. This fabric is NOT pre-shrunk.
