She learned batik in Indonesia and has a direct relationship with the artists there. Batik is a beautiful ancient way of creating fabric art. Every piece is unique, though they have an overall pattern, because they are created by hand, no two yards will be identical. These are hot water dyed, which means they are colorfast and the pattern is on both sides of the fabric. Making a Mask?Batik fabric is a tight weave and perfect for making beautiful, exotic masks. I read emails all day long and respond quickly. NOTE: If you are making masks, one FQ (fat quarter) will make two duck bill style masks with linings, or four if you do not plan to line them. But if these are to help prevent the virus, it is best if you line them and add Pellon 911 fusible or sewable interface (this is a non-woven interface) as it is tight enough to keep a micron size out.
